This early 20th century artist rendering of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum shows a peek of the 300 the Fenway building at its far right. Which came first? Our permanent building was completed on the Fenway in 1904, next to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, which had opened a year earlier.
